Groundwater Samplers

Passive Tritium Sampler
NuVision Engineering, Inc. has partnered with the Desert Research Institute (DRI) to develop a concept for an alternative tritium sampler which has no moving parts within the well thereby promising greater reliability and ease of deployment. This method utilizes air as a carrier for tritiated water vapor from the zone of contamination to the well head. A desiccant is then used to extract the tritiated water vapor from the air at the surface. Water will be driven off the desiccant in the laboratory for tritium analysis.

Deep Well Sampler
NuVision Engineering, Inc. has developed a Deep Well Sampling System that is easy to operate and inexpensive to deploy. The NuVision Engineering Deep Well Sampler uses air pressure and a foam ‘pig’ to drive a short column of water to the surface. Because there is no continuous column of water, the drive pressure does not increase with depth as it does with conventional pumps. A key advantage of the system is that the pig cleans the tubing during operation, so any fouling is eliminated during purging. This makes the system especially suitable for dedicated installations where the tubing is pre-installed in the well. The system is described in more detail in the product profile.
