The Richland, WA office has been adding new employees at a steady rate over the last several months. There are now nine personnel supporting numerous APS projects in both the US and UK, including both International Agreement and commercial contracts. The most current award, kicked off August 27, is for the small-scale testing of Power Fluidic mixers in 8 ft. and 4 ft. vessels for Bechtel National on the Waste Treatment Plant at Hanford. This project, called M3, is a tremendous opportunity for NuVision Engineering (NVE) and represents the benefit of perseverance since we have been courting BNI for more than five years on this type of support work and have finally mananged to secure a position from which we can add value. It is now recognized that NVE experience and expertise are needed to resolve DOE/BNI concerns regarding waste mixing and transferring issues on this project.
Other projects currently underway in which Richland staff are playing a major role include:
- K-Basin sludge retrieval (International Agreement - Fluor Hanford)
- Tank 50 Fluidic Sampling System (International Agreement - Savannah River)
- Generals Tanks sampling (Los Alamos)
- Single Shell Tank Retrieval and Disposition Strategy (International Agreement - DOE HQ)
